When you think of the topic of social wellness many things may come to mind. One of the most important aspects that stands out is the ability to adapt to an environment that is not conducive to us. Social wellness ties directly into mental health and is an important aspect of our everyday lives. From the perspective of a Cannabis Nurse Consultant and Wellness Navigator, the question is how are you adapting to something that is socially not accepted? How do you tackle the stigma that is placed behind cannabis when approaching friends, family, healthcare professionals and even people in law enforcement or civil matters?The Social Stigma that is placed upon cannabis leaves a bad taste in the mouths of many. Many medicinal cannabis clients have to deal with some form harsh stigma’s. Cannabis users are widely believed to “miss” the bar when it comes to social expectations. They are stigmatized as being less proficient in social roles from parenting, to learning, to career to meaningful relationships
