Working in critical care areas for 14 years, anxiety was a diagnosis seen far too often. Many patients “developed” anxiety as a result of their state of health, fear of the unknown, or an inability to cope with or adjust to present life conditions. Anxiety is the most common mental illness in the United States, affecting over 40 million adults over the age of eighteen.
