Pop culture has been making waves all over social media with the brazen actions of “cancel culture”. We’ve watched as celebrities, comedians, actresses, and the average person have all fallen victim to culture when they’ve publicly voiced an opinion that differed from the most vocal online voices. There have been calls for people to lose their jobs, to have their accolades removed, and to be shunned by mainstream society, leaving them to pick up the pieces of their life alone. Certainly, people should be held accountable for the things they say, the values that they express publicly and privately, and the way they treat other people. If those values and sentiments are a detriment to society, there are consequences for those behaviors. However, what does it say about our society when we are so swift to judge
